Great story of compassion and bonding. I saved a kitten from a dumpster during a long-range precision rifle competition in October and he's a pain in the ass. But it's hard to love anything more than him. Cheers to another human willing to help a creature in need - it's so easy to turn a blind eye.

And overall great blog. Looking forward to reading more entries.

I don't know you Jake, I read your story on Lou Patterson's facebook wall. You are my new hero!!! Not to mention, you travel the places, expecially the canyons of the Gods, the Hopi and Navajo reservations area and the red rocks of New Mexico and Utah. I have had a love affair(at least in my heart and head) going on with the four corners for years. It is true space, to me , truer than the ocean.
Luca is a spirit creature for you, and thank you for blessing the horse that shrouded her in in protection, saving her for the life she was about to have with you.

I just love these pictures - it brings back lots of memories from my childhood - camping out in these mountains (without the snow, of course).

Some excellent images here, New Mexio looks an interesting place to visit, I've only really seen images of White Sands.
