NMBR's Best of 2011 - Summer in Southern New Mexico

Cruising down Highway 152 through the Black Range via Emory Pass. Clouds in the sky, cool breeze at my back, life is good. NMBR's Best of 2011 - Colorado's San Juan Mountains

Morning at Crystal Lake - Million Dollar Highway, San Juan Mountains, CO Vantage from Brown Mountain II - View towards Uncompahgre Peak, Engineer Mountain, Matterhorn Peak and the Alpine Plateau - San Juan Mountains, CO Black Bear Pass - San Juan Mountains, CO Black Bear Pass - San Juan Mountains, CO Bridal Veils Falls - San Juan Mountains, CO Black Bear Pass - Staring down the face of a sheer cliff, wheels locked and feeling the truck slide towards the edge—what a rush of blood to the head. It seems like a 5,000 lb. truck is easily hypnotized by gravity in precarious situations. Once in awhile, I have to put the camera down, and both hands on the wheel. NMBR's Best of 2011 - Never a Wrong Turn

Indian Route 12 - Navajoland, AZ Indian Route 12 - Navajoland, AZ I found a puppy burrowed beneath a dead horse on the desolate flats north of Canyon de Chelly. My steps were slow as I approached and talked sweet to the little dog, hoping it would not bolt for the hills. Then I saw why she couldn’t run away, or even sit up for the matter, her belly and paws were riddled with spines and goat heads. The packed earth beneath the dead horse’s ruptured belly was pink and packed as if the little dog had rolled beneath the beast for days. The torn horse hide hung like drapes over her burrow. It was clear that she had been eating at its flesh and had licked parts of the hide bare. Get the full story here: http://newmexicobackroads.blogspot.com/2011/07/never-wrong-turn-i.html Luka- Indian Route 12 - Navajoland, AZ Mexican Water, AZ- I put her in haunches first and she put her front paws on the bucket rim in protest. She then realized that she liked the feeling of the cool water and settled down. She looked scrawny once she was wet and her fur was matted. I lathered and rinsed the pup four or five times until the bath water lost its pink tinge. Full story: http://newmexicobackroads.blogspot.com/2011/07/never-wrong-turn-part-ii.html
Luka- Mexican Water, AZ As the sun sank in the cloudless sky, we entered Utah near Boundary Butte. After crossing over the San Juan River, the road to Valley of the Gods meanders between sheer red rock cliffs and smooth sandstone formations. The scenery became more spectacular with each passing mile. The vibration of the road lulled the little put to sleep. With each bend in the road, her eyes would flicker open and shut. - Valley of the Gods, UT Valley of the Gods, UT Luka- Valley of the Gods, UT Luka- Valley of the Gods, UT Hell's Revenge Trail Run- Piloting the NMBR 4Runner up the Hell's Gate Obstacle.- Moab, UT (Cruise Moab 2011, Photo by George Zoros) Hell's Revenge Trail- Moab, UT
