Glade Run Recreation Area - Farmington, NM (Trails: Intimidator, Anasazi Refrigerator, Cobra, Gladiator, Lower Rim, Upper Rim & RJ’s)
"Glade Run Recreation Area: A great spot for the weekend warrior, the Glade Run Recreation Area is comprised of 19,000 acres of sandy arroyos, slick rock and rolling terrain. The recreation area is split into two off-highway vehicle use zones. The northern three-quarters of the Glade are managed for limited trail use and 3,800 acres on the south end are managed as an open OHV area. Approximately 42 miles of marked trails for motorized trail bike and mountain bike riders are located in the limited OHV portion of the Glade. Challenging slick rock and wide sandy washes provide fun for off road enthusiasts in the open OHV section.
Activities- Biking, hiking, horseback, OHV.
Facilities- None. Restrooms and drinking water are not available.
Location / Access- The recreation area lies between NM State Highways 170, 574, and 516 with multiple entry points on dirt roads.

Yes, both rear tires are off the ground. This pic is from last year’s trail run led by Farmington local Phil Damron. The pic is worth a repeat to show that the big obstacles of Glade Run are not only reserved for rock buggies. Quick thinking by the driver and a bit of throttle brought the rear tires back to earth.
