New Mexico Backroads - Cerrado de Coyote



In search of primitive roads linking Corralitos with the Mesilla Valley, we stumbled upon a hidden gem. An old two track led us to an undisturbed valley of six foot tall grass. Wandering through the massive tufts, I felt as though I was in the savannah. While our original ambitions faded with the sun, we were pleased with such a find.

A Backdrop for The Book of Eli: Carrizozo, NM


Carrizozo will be featured as the backdrop for the upcoming film “The Book of Eli” starring Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. The “post-apocalyptic” western follows a lone man (Washington) trekking through the desolate west after a catastrophic event has left America in shambles. The hero’s journey is in protecting a sacred book that bares the secret to the humankind's salvation.





The majority of the film was shot in Carrizozo; Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Alamogordo will also be featured in the New Mexico Production.






"The Book of Eli" is will hit movie screens later this month.
